Setting Your Wedding Priorities

It’s no secret that planning a wedding is stressful, and if you’ve never done it before, you might be unsure of where to even begin. Everybody is going to give you “advice” and it can be completely overwhelming. Don’t worry - the KME team is here to help!

Our number one tip when you start planning your wedding, besides hiring a wedding planner (shameless self-promo over here), is to prioritize the top three elements of your wedding. Maybe you and your fiance are major foodies - you’ll want to rank catering very highly. If music is really important to you, rank that as a high priority item. Maybe you don’t really care about flowers - no need to rank that highly. You get the idea …

Once you know your priorities, your decisions will become much easier. Let’s say your venue is your number one priority. The venue of your dreams isn’t available on your favorite date, but they have the following weekend available. You can consider switching your date in order to secure your dream venue. Maybe your catering bill is coming in a little bit higher than you budgeted. If catering is your top priority, you can decide to splurge a little here and save on something that isn’t as important to you.

No matter what your priorities, never lose sight of the real reason you are having a wedding, which is to celebrate the love between you and your partner.
