What We're Reading

We love to read here at Kelly McVeigh Events. Oftentimes, in the height of the season, reading becomes less of a priority as we focus on all the details of events. This year, we’re committing to reading every single day, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Here are a few books we've read recently:

Year of Yes: How to Dance it Out, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Person

By: Shonda Rhimes

We originally picked this one up because we truly believe anything that comes from the brain of Shonda Rhimes is genius (see: Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s Anatomy). This was an easy read, cute and funny, and actually got us thinking. Definitely recommend.

Girlboss

By: Sophia Amoruso

Another easy read, and a must-read for all girlbosses out there. We don’t know that we would take full-on business advice from this book, but it was at least inspiring to see how Sophia built an empire from basically nothing.

What Happened? By Hillary Rodham Clinton and Fire and Fury by Michael Wolff.

No matter what side of politics you’re on, there is no denying that the 2016 election was a hot mess. We wanted to read both points of view, and man were they interesting. We’re all about evaluating every point of view, so we absolutely recommend reading both of these books. However, be prepared to feel angry, no matter to which camp {Team Hillary or Team Trump} you belong.

What do you think we should we add to our reading list list?

Cheers!
