Holiday Cocktails to Warm You Up

If you’re anything like us, the cold weather and early sunsets make you want to hibernate in your home for the entirety of the winter season. No judgement here. In fact, we’ll help you do just that. Below are three cocktails to warm you up from the inside out this winter.

Spiked Hot Chocolate - This one is really easy. Ready for it? All you need is a mug of hot chocolate and some Bailey’s, any flavor. Prepare your hot chocolate according to the instructions on the package (or if you’re fancy and making it from scratch, prepare accordingly). Add in however much Bailey’s you feel like at that particular moment. This drink is perfect for three things: 1. Sunday afternoons snuggling on the couch watching movies; 2. Holiday brunch; 3. an accompaniment to holiday cookies, while both baking them and eating them.

Cranberry Mimosa - insert a fresh rosemary sprig into a champagne flute. Fill flute halfway with cranberry juice. Top with sparkling wine. Feel free to adjust the cranberry juice and sparkling wine proportions to your liking. Confession - some days {like those we spend with our in-laws} our proportions are WAY different, as in a splash of cranberry juice in a full glass of champagne.

Classic Old Fashioned - this is a stand by for a reason. Place a sugar cube (or ½ teaspoon of loose sugar) in the bottom of an old fashioned glass. Add 2 to 3 dashes of Angostura bitters. If you’re feeling fancy/adventurous, you can use a flavored bitter here. Muddle the sugar and bitters together in the glass. Add ice. Top with 2 oz. of your favorite bourbon and stir. Remember, this drink is straight booze, so sip slowly, no matter how fantastic it tastes.

We’ll be taking a break from wedding planning to spend time with our families over the holidays, but you know our digital door is always open -
